Do you know someone suffering from harassment, racism, hate crime, bullying or any other form of antisocial behaviour? Help is at hand with the new eyewitness© app.

Weve launched our app to assist both victims and witnesses of crime with the safe and anonymous reporting of incidents to the police. The idea behind the app was based on our UK-wide research which revealed that, whilst 60% of us in the UK witness antisocial behaviour in a given year, a huge 70% of us are reluctant to report incidents to the police primarily because of a desire to preserve anonymity.

The eyewitness© app makes it easier to collect evidence and report incidents with the following unique benefits and features:-

- Free to download
- Preserves your privacy and anonymity
- Collects photographic, video or audio evidence of an incident (either captured via the app or pulled from existing data on your smartphone)
- Time and geo-stamps all evidence automatically
- Securely stores all evidence submitted so you can delete it from your device if threatened
- Sends your evidence, anonymously, to the relevant police force in two taps
- Allows user to additionally send information direct to the news desk of national and local newspapers
- Integrated anonymous chat client between witness and recipient

The eyewitness© app is supported by a broad spectrum of high ranking police commissioners, anti-crime campaigners and trusted UK newspaper titles.

Yvonne Mosquito, Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner for West Midlands, says:
“At a time when smart phones and tablets are accepted as an integral part of day to day life, this app helps put policing into the pockets of people in our communities. I hope the app is a great success and that it contributes to policing in a positive manner.”

Beverly Thomas, the mother of Charlene Ellis who was killed in Birmingham in 2003 says:
"I found the eyewitness app absolutely fantastic! In 2003 when these 4 girls were gunned down in the streets of Birmingham this app would have played a useful role for vital information at that time. There was so much information coming through me as the victim when it could have been directed through an app like this. Intimidation and threats played a big part when my daughter Charlene Ellis and her friend Letisha Shakespeare were killed. I feel this app could have cut down time delays in the investigation and also given the witnesses peace of mind. There are so many people affected by crime in our communities and I feel that this app will break down barriers where people hesitate to give evidence and confide in the police."

eyewitness© also provides materials and resources about the effects of crime and links to organisations that can provide free, confidential and impartial support or advice about hate crime and harassment.

Dont be a bystander to harassment and hate crime - become an eyewitness and put a stop to anti-social behaviour with the new eyewitness© app.
